| Mel Albert has served as a Guardian-ad-Litem in the Juvenile and Family courts, assisting the court with medical and medication issues, use of anti-psychotic medications, investigating child visitation and custody, along with waivers of privilege and educational advocacy.
A volunteer in overseeing Mental Health programs for Juveniles, Human Rights Committee member for adolescents and as Co-chair of the Massachusetts Department of Mental Health's Institutional Research Review Board, Mel Albert has worked to protect patients and their human rights. He serves on the Professional Advisory Council for Child and Adolescent Mental Health for the Massachustts Department of Mental Health and on the Family Advisory Council of the Massachusetts Behavioral Health Provider. Co-Chairing state-wide mandatory classes for Court Investigators and Investigative Guardians-ad-Litem and serving on planning committees for guardian-ad-litem continuing education, Mel Albert has enhanced the performance of guardians-ad-litem throughout Massachusetts.
